Cooler kitchens, lower bills — make-up air without the DX price tag

Cooled, filtered 100% fresh make-up air for commercial kitchens at a fraction of the capital and running cost of a DX fresh-air unit. Running in restaurants across the Kingdom.

up to 20°C cooler supply air than outdoor conditions, using only water
100% fresh, filtered air — no recirculation, no refrigerant in the kitchen

The problem

Every cubic metre your hoods pull out has to come back in.

Your kitchen hoods pull out enormous volumes of air every hour — and every cubic metre has to come back in. If it comes in hot, your kitchen is unbearable, your dining-room AC fights a losing battle, and your bills climb.

The usual answer is a DX fresh-air unit: expensive to buy, expensive to run.

The solution

IntrCooll is the smarter answer.

Using Oxycom's IDEC (Indirect Direct Evaporative Cooling), it delivers large volumes of cooled, filtered, 100% fresh make-up air at a fraction of the capital cost and a fraction of the electricity of a DX fresh-air unit — with no refrigerant in the kitchen.

It is already keeping kitchens comfortable in restaurants across the Kingdom. Dosan Energy surveys your kitchen, sizes the unit to your hood exhaust, installs it with minimal disruption, and maintains it.

How it works

How we deliver it

  1. STEP 01 Survey & sizing We measure your hood exhaust and kitchen layout and size the IntrCooll unit to balance it.
  2. STEP 02 Install Rooftop or ground-mounted unit, ducted to the kitchen, with water supply, drainage and controls — typically without stopping service.
  3. STEP 03 Run & maintain Simple seasonal maintenance; fewer mechanical parts than DX, so fewer breakdowns.

Comparison

IntrCooll make-up air vs. DX fresh-air unit

Figures for your site are quoted after the kitchen survey. Dosan Energy supplies the comparison for your exhaust volume.

Criterion IntrCooll make-up air DX fresh-air unit
Capital cost Fraction of DX High (compressors, condensers, refrigerant circuit)
Electricity Fans + small pump only Compressor-driven — high kW per m³/h
Fresh air 100% fresh, filtered Often mixed or limited by cost
Refrigerant in kitchen None Yes
Maintenance Pads, pump, filters Compressors, coils, refrigerant
Heat recovery of kitchen Not needed — exhaust replaced with cool air

FAQ

Questions engineers ask us.

No. IntrCooll's first stage cools indirectly without adding moisture, and the second stage adds only what is needed. The air arrives cool and comfortable, not damp — and the hood exhaust removes it continuously.

Comparable to a few taps running during peak hours. Depending on the water quality at your site, the units run on regular tap water or on treated water from a small RO unit. The water connection itself is normally executed by a third party — we specify it and coordinate, and can take it on ourselves where needed.

Incoming air passes through filters and the wetted media, which also wash out fine dust — the supply is cleaner than the outdoor air.

Yes. IntrCooll is modular and connects to existing ducts. Most restaurant installations are completed in a few days.

The unit is installed outdoors, with a sound pressure level of 52 dB(A) at a distance of 5 meters — lower than that of other systems.
